The headline finding
Dresses, bottoms and tops are gaining revenue share across our fashion portfolio while outerwear sheds 2.5 points, and the shift is happening in most stores at once. This page tracks live category momentum across 134 ecom stores and gets refreshed as the data moves.

Fashion: Summer Categories Are Taking Share
We measure momentum two ways, and a category has to move on both to matter. First, share shift: how much bigger the category's slice of the last 7 days' revenue is than its slice of the whole 30-day window. Second, breadth: in what share of stores the category is gaining, so one big store cannot fake a trend.
Into July, the climbers are dresses (+1.5 points, rising in 52.9% of the 102 stores that sell them), bottoms (+1.1 points, rising in 56.8% of stores) and tops (+1.0 points, 53.9%). Swimwear is up too, smaller but seasonally right on time.
The fallers mirror them: outerwear is shedding share fastest (-2.5 points, rising in fewer than a quarter of stores) with knitwear right behind (-0.9 points, rising in only 27.4%). The portfolio is rotating out of cold-weather stock in real time, and the breadth numbers show it is happening across the book, not in a few outliers.
SHARE OF STORES WHERE THE CATEGORY IS RISING (FASHION)
The Breadth Check: Trend or Outlier?
Share shift alone can lie: one big store clearing summer stock would move the whole pool. Breadth is the guard. For every category we count the share of stores, among those that actually sell it, where its 7-day share beats its 30-day share.
Bottoms lead on breadth at 56.8% of 88 stores, ahead of tops (53.9%) and dresses (52.9%). At the other end, knitwear rises in 27.4% of stores and outerwear in 23.9%: as close to a portfolio-wide consensus as demand data gets.
A useful reading rule: above 55% breadth is a real trend worth stocking into. Between 45% and 55% is noise. Below 40% and falling share means the season is telling you to rotate out.

Home Decor: Furniture and Outdoor Wake Up
The home decor portfolio is smaller (22 stores), so read these as directional. Furniture is the clearest riser (+1.1 points), with garden and outdoor products (+0.7) and decor objects (+0.7, rising in 54.5% of stores that sell them) behind it.
The big mover in the other direction is lighting, the niche's dominant category, at -4.9 points and rising in only 27.3% of stores. Summer is lighting's seasonal trough: days are long, nobody is redecorating for coziness. Its share will come back as the days shorten; the operators who pre-build their winter lighting push during this lull start the season ahead.
Methodology
112 fashion stores and 22 home decor stores with both a 30-day and a 7-day revenue window; 106,400 products underneath. 3 fashion stores from the winning-products sample drop out for lacking usable 7-day data.
Rolling 30-day windows pulled June 1 to July 1, 2026
- Momentum compares each category's share of the most recent 7 days' ad revenue with its share of the full 30-day window, in percentage points. A positive number means the category is taking share right now.
- Breadth counts the share of stores, among stores that sell the category, where the category's 7-day share beats its own 30-day share. It filters out single-store distortions.
- Categories are shown only when at least 5 stores sell them; fashion table rows require 50+.
- This is a living page. We re-run the measurement on fresh portfolio data and update the numbers and date; the method stays fixed so editions are comparable.
Questions People Ask About This Study
How Is This Different From Google Trends?
Google Trends measures searches; this measures money. Our momentum comes from actual ad-attributed revenue inside 134 stores, so a category only registers when people are buying it, not just looking at it.
How Often Does This Page Update?
When we re-run the measurement on a fresh window, roughly monthly. The date under the title is the honest signal: it changes only when the numbers do.
Can I Use This to Pick Products?
As one input, yes: momentum plus breadth tells you where portfolio-wide demand is moving. Pair it with your own store's data and margin math before you buy inventory. A rising category is a tailwind, not a guarantee.
