Why are my Google Shopping ads not showing?

The short answer

Google Shopping ads usually do not show for one of four reasons: your products are disapproved in Merchant Center, your bid or budget is too low to enter the auction, your product feed is empty or stuck, or the campaign is brand new and still ramping. Check Merchant Center first - disapprovals are the most common cause.

Start with Merchant Center

Most 'not showing' problems are disapproved products. Open Merchant Center and look at the Products tab. A disapproved product cannot show, full stop. Common reasons: missing or wrong GTIN, price or availability that does not match your site, or a policy flag.

Fix the disapprovals first. Everything else is pointless while your products are blocked from the auction.

Check bid, budget, and targeting

If products are approved but still quiet, you may be priced out of the auction. A very low target ROAS or a tiny budget can keep you from ever showing. Loosen the target or raise the budget a little and watch.

Also check your targeting is not too narrow - a tight location or a small custom audience can shrink your reach to almost nothing.

Give a new campaign time

A brand-new Shopping or Performance Max campaign does not show at full volume on day one. It needs a few days and some data to leave the learning phase. If you launched today, that quiet is normal.

Do not panic-edit a new campaign every hour. Each big change restarts the learning and keeps it quiet longer.

Fix Shopping ads that are not showing

  1. 1

    Check Merchant Center for disapprovals

Open the Products tab in Merchant Center. Fix any disapproved or pending products - wrong GTIN, price mismatch, or policy flags block them from showing.

  2. 2

    Confirm the feed is live

Make sure your product feed is fetching and not stuck or empty. An expired or errored feed pulls your products out of the auction.

  3. 3

    Loosen bid and budget

If products are approved, raise the budget or ease a too-strict target ROAS so you can actually enter the auction.

  4. 4

Give a new campaign a few days

A new campaign needs data to leave the learning phase. Wait a few days before judging it, and avoid constant edits.
