A fair review of the agency that uses our pitch.
OPTIMZD review (2026): an honest look from a competitor
An honest OPTIMZD review for ecommerce brands - what optimzd.io offers, their pricing, claims and ROAS promise, what to check before you sign, and how they compare to ZenoX Media.
Let me be straight before you read a word: I run ZenoX Media, and ZenoX competes directly with OPTIMZD. So this is a competitor reviewing a competitor. I am telling you that up front because an honest review starts with the bias on the table.
With that said, I am not here to trash them. OPTIMZD is a real agency. The goal of this post is to give you the facts, fairly, and let you decide. Every OPTIMZD figure below is from their own public site, optimzd.io.
Is OPTIMZD legit?
Yes. This is the first thing people search, so let me answer it cleanly. OPTIMZD is a legitimate Netherlands-based Google Ads agency for ecommerce. They have a working site, a clear offer, 100+ stated clients, a 4.8 out of 5 rating from 42 reviews on their own site, and Google Partner status. Nothing about that says scam.
So the real question is not "are they legit." It is "are they the best fit for my brand." That is a different question, and it is the one worth your time.
What OPTIMZD offers
Here is their pitch, as fairly as I can put it.
- Positioning: they call themselves "the #1 Google Media Buying Agency for ecommerce."
- Focus: Google Ads for ecommerce, strategy plus data plus creative.
- Pricing: a percentage of ad spend on five brackets, from 10% down to 6%, no fixed retainer, month-to-month.
- Performance: they point to an average ROAS of 3 or higher, and frame a goal of scaling to at least 3,000 euros a day at a minimum 3x ROAS within 90 days.
- Proof: 100+ clients and a 4.8 from 42 reviews.
- Entry offer: a free growth scan.
If you are a Dutch ecommerce brand who wants a local agency, that is a reasonable shortlist entry. No argument from me.
The two things worth checking before you sign
This is where a review earns its keep. Two honest cautions, and they apply to any agency, not just OPTIMZD.
One, the ROAS promise. A single headline multiple like 3x tells you nothing about profit on its own. The math depends entirely on your margins. Ask any agency to walk the number down to profit per order before you trust it.
Two, what does the fee actually buy? OPTIMZD's pricing matches ZenoX's to the percent, the same five brackets from 10% down to 6% (more on that below). So price is not what separates them. The real question at that fee is what runs on your account for it: proprietary tooling, or hands-on-keyboard manual management? Ask, because you pay the same either way.
The part a normal review would not tell you
Here is the context that makes this review different from a generic one.
OPTIMZD's pitch is the same one ZenoX has run since 2024. The "#1 ecommerce Google Ads agency" line, the performance-fee model, the ecommerce focus. We were using "#1 Google Ads agency for eCom brands" on our own site before the optimzd.io domain existed. That domain was registered in April 2025. zenoxmedia.com was live and archived from 2024. Those are public records you can check.
They copied the pricing too. Their rate card shows the same five brackets as ours, 10% down to 6%, the same euro steps. Open optimzd.io/en/prijzen and zenoxmedia.com/pricing side by side and you see it in ten seconds.
I will even tell you a story against my own annoyance. A "top ecom stores to study" list once made the rounds to a competitor's clients, and the stores on it were ZenoX clients. The funny part: the list was about 80% wrong. It missed almost all of our real top performers, because you cannot see those from the outside, only by running the accounts. That is the thing about a copy. It is a worse, and often inaccurate, version of the original. That is my honest opinion as the founder, not a stated fact about anyone's intent.
OPTIMZD vs ZenoX, at a glance
| ZenoX Media | OPTIMZD | |
|---|---|---|
| Ecom brands scaled | 200+ worldwide | 100+ (their number) |
| Markets | US, Europe, Dubai, and beyond | Netherlands only, Dutch-first |
| On the record since | 2024 | Domain registered April 2025 |
| In-house AI engine | Yes, hourly on every account | None advertised |
| Pricing | Published first - 10% down to 6% | The same brackets, copied to the percent |
| Risk-free entry | Free first month, then 50% off | Free growth scan |
So, should you hire OPTIMZD?
If you are a Netherlands brand who specifically wants a local, Dutch-first agency, OPTIMZD belongs on your shortlist. That is a real reason and I will not pretend otherwise.
For most ecommerce brands weighing the two on track record, market reach, technology, and pricing transparency, the deeper option is ZenoX. More brands, more markets, an AI engine OPTIMZD does not advertise, a published rate card, and a free first month so you see the work before you pay.
Put both side by side on the full ZenoX vs OPTIMZD comparison, check our results, and decide with your eyes open. That is what an honest review is for.
