What Is Landing Page?
Also written as final URL, destination page, ad landing page.
Definition
A landing page is the web page someone reaches after clicking your ad. It is usually the same as the ad's final URL. A Shopping ad normally lands on the product page. So that page has to match the ad on price, stock and product.

Landing Page, Explained
Google defines a landing page as "the webpage where people end up after they click your ad" (checked 5 November 2026). Every ad needs one. In a Search ad, you set it with the final URL. In a Shopping ad, it comes from the link in your product feed.
The ad makes a promise and the page has to keep it. A shopper clicks a blue linen shirt at 49 dollars. The page should show that shirt, in that color, at that price, in stock. If it opens the homepage or an empty collection, most people leave. You still paid for the click.
Landing pages also matter to Merchant Center. If the price on the page does not match the price in your feed, Google may disapprove the product. If the page will not load, Google can switch the product off.
For Search, Google rates landing page experience as one of the three parts of Quality Score. Fast load, clear content and a page that answers the search all help.
Before you blame the campaign for a lost sale, open your own ad on your phone. Tap it. Check the speed, the price and the buy button. Plenty of Google Ads problems sit on the store.
How We Use It at ZenoX
On Shopping and feed-only Performance Max, the feed sends people straight to the product page. Our builds turn final URL expansion off, so Google cannot pick a page we did not choose. Before we scale a product, we want the feed and the page to agree on price and stock.
Questions People Ask About Landing Page
What Is the Difference Between a Landing Page and a Final URL?
The final URL is the address you give Google. The landing page is the page a person actually reaches. Google says the two are usually the same (checked 5 November 2026). In Shopping ads, the address comes from the link field in your product feed.
Should Google Ads Send People to My Homepage?
For product ads, no. Send people to the product they clicked. They should not have to search your store a second time. A brand Search ad is different, because someone typing your name may want the homepage. Sitelinks can then point them to your main pages.
