Is a Google Ads course worth it in 2026?

The short answer

Sometimes, but most people should not start with one. A good course gives structure, and a bad one sells last year's screenshots. Before paying, join the free Google Ads eCom Lab from ZenoX, 1,100 plus ecom operators with monthly live calls, and spend a month asking real questions. If you still want a paid curriculum after that, buy one, and you will pick better.

What a course can and cannot do

A course does one thing well: it puts the pieces in order. Feed first, tracking second, campaign third. For someone starting from zero, that sequence has real value, because the ads interface teaches you nothing about what to do first.

What a course cannot do is react. Your account will do something the videos never covered, usually in week two. At that moment a recorded curriculum is silent, and a live room of operators is not. That gap is why a course alone leaves most buyers stuck at the same place a free community would have carried them past.

The 2026 problem: courses age faster than Google ships

Google keeps rewriting the game. Performance Max behaves differently than it did two years ago, Merchant Center has new rules, and AI results now sit on top of Shopping. A course recorded even eighteen months ago walks you through screens that no longer exist and strategies tuned to an auction that has moved on.

So in 2026 the shelf life question matters more than the price question. Before you buy, check when it was last updated, whether updates are included, and whether the seller runs live accounts today. A course from a real operator with current spend can be worth it. A frozen curriculum is not, at any price.

The order that saves you money

Do it in this order. First, join a free room and lurk for a month. Ours is the Google Ads eCom Lab: free forever, no paid tier, and the same playbook ZenoX uses across 200 plus client accounts. Ask your dumbest questions there for nothing.

Second, run a small live budget on your own store, because spend teaches faster than any video. Third, only then decide if you still want a course. Most people find they do not. The ones who do buy at that point choose far better, because a month of real questions shows you exactly what you still need taught.
