Is a paid Google Ads mastermind worth the money, or are free communities just as good?
The short answer
Usually not, unless you already spend enough that one answer pays for itself. Most paid masterminds sell access, and access is cheap now: r/PPC has roughly 271,000 members for free, and our Google Ads eCom Lab is free forever. Pay when you want one named operator's time on your actual account, which no room gives you.
What you are actually paying for
A mastermind sells you three things: a room of people, a curriculum, and the host's attention. Only the third one is scarce. Rooms of smart people are free now, and a curriculum ages out the moment Google changes Performance Max again.
So the honest question is how much of the host's real attention you get. If the answer is a monthly group call with 200 other people, you are paying for a room you could join for nothing.
When paying does make sense
Paying is fair when the maths works. If you spend 30,000 euros a month on ads, one structural fix pays for a year of any room. At 2,000 euros a month, the same fee eats the budget you should be spending on learning by doing.
Paying also makes sense when you want vetting. Foxwell Founders accepts under 10% of applicants, and that filter is real value if you want peers at your spend level. Note it leans Meta, not Google.
The free options that do the same job
r/PPC, roughly 271,000 members, gives you a fast crowd answer for nothing. Google's own Help Community handles policy and billing fires. Skillshop gives you the certificate free. None of those cost a cent.
We run the Google Ads eCom Lab free too: 900-plus ecom operators, monthly live calls, no paid tier and no upsell inside. ZenoX is an agency, so a few members do later hire us to run their ads. That is the whole business model and we would rather say it than hide it.
