What Is Manager Account?
Also written as MCC, Google Ads manager account, MCC account.
Definition
A manager account is a Google Ads account that lets you view and manage many other Google Ads accounts from one login. Agencies use one to run client accounts. For an ecommerce owner with a few stores, it puts every store's account under one roof, with reporting across all of them.

Manager Account, Explained
Google calls a manager account "an umbrella Google Ads account" with other accounts linked to it (checked 5 November 2026). You may hear it called an MCC. Think of it as a key ring. Each store keeps its own Google Ads account, and the manager account holds the keys.
You get one login. Google says you can "use a single sign in to access all client Google Ads accounts". You can also build and change campaigns in each linked account, compare results and run reports across them.
Owners should know how the link works. A proper agency does not need your password. It sends a link request from its manager account, and you accept it inside your own account. You stay the owner. You can remove that access at any time. If an agency says it must own your account, walk away. Your data and your history belong to you.
Never share one login across a team. Give each person their own access, at the lowest level their job needs. Turn on two-step sign-in too. A manager account can reach many stores, so one stolen login can hurt every one of them.
How We Use It at ZenoX
We link client accounts through our manager account. We never create client accounts under our own login, and no passwords change hands. The client stays the owner and can remove us at any time. We watch for every new email or invite on the account, because that access is the master key.

Does an Agency Need My Password to Run My Google Ads?
No. The agency sends a link request from its manager account, and you accept it inside your own Google Ads account. No password changes hands. You stay the owner and you can remove the agency at any time. Be careful with any agency that asks for your login.
Does a Small Store Need a Manager Account?
Not with one store and one account. Your normal Google Ads login does the job. A manager account starts to help when you run several stores or ad accounts. You get one login and reports across all of them. Agencies use one to work with clients.
