How Do You Pass Merchant Center Video Verification?

The short answer
To pass Merchant Center video verification, follow the instructions in your own verification request. FeedArmy, an agency like ZenoX, says a shop with stock should film one unedited 3 to 5 minute take: sign, staff-only area, stock. No storage access? Pick that on the form if offered. No video is a sure pass. Never stage a warehouse or misstate where orders ship.

When Google Asks for a Video
The video shows up as part of identity verification, mostly after a suspension for misrepresentation. You find the request in the Needs attention tab. Google says you have to finish identity verification before the Request review button works.
Google picks the check for you. Its Merchant Center help pages name two: a selfie check with your phone camera, and a photo of an ID or business document. On 2026-10-09 we found no public Merchant Center help page for the video step. So the brief on your screen is the rulebook. Read it twice before you record.
The best public walkthrough is a video on Google's own Merchant Center Community, posted on 13 September 2025 by Emmanuel Flossie of FeedArmy. FeedArmy is an agency that sells suspension help, same as we do, so weigh it that way. He calls the step a limited rollout. In September 2026 a dropshipper asked in that thread what to send when he has no access to a storage area. The reply was short: follow the video instructions Google gives you, because they may change.
What to Film, Shot by Shot
Flossie splits his shot list by how you sell. For every case he asks for one continuous video of 3 to 5 minutes, with no faces, IDs or private data in it. With a physical store, start outside with the street name and your sign in view. Walk in without stopping and show a staff-only area, like a storage room, an office or the till. No cuts, no edits. If you sell online and keep stock where you work, show the entrance with the sign or street name, how staff get into the storage area, and one to three of your most expensive products with their packaging and the shelf they sit on, all in one take.
Google has written rules for a similar video on Business Profile, the listing behind Google Maps. That is a different product, so treat these as a guide, not as Merchant Center rules. The video must be live, with no breaks, at least 30 seconds long, and recorded on a phone. It must not show bank, tax or ID numbers, private info, or other people's faces.
Walk the route once before you record. Clear any papers with numbers on them. Say in a few words what each shot shows. Then check your details. Google says documents that do not match the names and addresses you typed can trigger an automatic rejection. Its review page also asks for the same business name, address and contact details on your website, in Merchant Center and in your payments profile. Line all of that up first.
If You Dropship and Have No Warehouse
This is where most dropshippers get stuck, because there is no stock room to film. Do not borrow one. Filming a friend's shop, a rented shelf or a supplier's warehouse as if it were yours is a false identity. Google's misrepresentation policy bans exactly that, and it bans hiding where your orders really ship from. Google also says a fraudulent attempt can lead to a full suspension.
Flossie's advice for stores without their own storage is short. Be 100% truthful when the form asks how you sell, then follow Google's instructions for that case. If the form lets you say you have no storage access, pick that. What you film next is whatever Google's brief asks for. Business Profile's rules for businesses with no shopfront give an idea of the kind of proof Google likes: landmarks near your address, the tools you work with, and a permit, invoice or utility bill in the business name. That is a hint, not a promise that it passes.
Check your website before you record. Your shipping page should say where orders really ship from, because hiding that is banned. A check built around stock can be hard for a store with none, and that is worth knowing early. Search campaigns do not need Merchant Center, so Google Ads can keep selling while you sort the store out.
Fix the Account Before You Start the Check
Google's tips for verification are strict. The person who starts the check must finish it, and another admin cannot take over. The names and addresses on your documents must match what you typed exactly. Photos of documents need all four corners, no glare, and no screenshots or photocopies. If the check needs a manual review, Google says that usually takes a few business days.
Google also says too many failed attempts can lead to a full suspension. The review after the check can take up to 7 business days. If your issues are still open after the second review, a one-week cool down may start. Flossie says you get three review requests, and that using them all can lead to a permanent ban. That is his read, not a Google number. So do the verification once, after the site and feed are already fixed.
If you are doing this yourself, you can post your Needs attention notice in our free Google Ads eCom Lab on Skool before you record. We run it, so weigh that. If your store spends at least €10K a month on ads, our team can take the account on through our Google Ads dropshipping service and prepare the review with you.
Record Your Merchant Center Verification Video
- 1
Fix the account first
Make the business name and address match across Merchant Center, your payments profile and your website footer. Fix shipping and return pages so they say where orders really ship from.
- 2
Read Google's brief on screen
Open the request in the Needs attention tab and read every line. Google has no public Merchant Center page for the video step, so the brief in your account is the rule.
- 3
Plan and walk the route
Start at the street sign and the sign with your business name, then a staff-only area, then your stock if you have it. Walk it once and clear any papers with ID, tax or bank numbers.
- 4
Record one take
Film live on your phone with no cuts or edits, keep other people's faces out, and say briefly what each shot shows. Dropship with no stock? Show only what is true.
- 5
Finish it yourself
The person who starts the check has to finish it. Submit, wait for the result, and only then request your review.
